Lori,
Because I raise parrots, I have always used the "safe" plant list for them, for my peafowl too! Here are some links you might want to look at. www.library.uiuc.edu/vex/toxic/intro.htm

I put fresh sod down every winter for mine and have "Halls honeysuckle" planted on one side of their outside enclosure.
