Kathy: The chickens and peacocks should have no trouble getting along, however, if you get them you should have them locked in a secure pen for a few months so they know your place is home. That might be why your first ones wandered off.

I hatched chickens and wild turkeys out at the same time. They grew up together and are still together. Around about the time they hatched (1 1/2 yrs ago)a friend found a newly hatched wood duck in their front yard (???) which they gave to me and I put him with the turkeys and chickens. He is very attached to them and is fully capable of leaving but chooses not to. They all free roam. So, I think if chickens and peacocks are together long enough than they will become attached.
