I doubt either theory is provable. The basis of both theories is so implausible, only the two combined begin to make any sense at all (and even that feels like wishful thinking).

Apparently the main problem with the theory of evolution is that it conflicts with the bible.

Of course, the nut cases that compiled the bible felt all historical documents, artifacts, and persons not supporting their theories had to be destroyed. (The volume of historical artifacts and documents these obsessed fanatics destroyed, not to mention innocent human lives, is without question the worst series of crimes against humanity ever perpetrated.)

But, lots of things didn’t get into the bible if they conflicted with intellectual gems like:
A. The earth is flat
B. The earth is the center of the universe (instead of on the outer edge of a rather unexceptional galaxy)

Actually the list of stuff they had laughingly wrong goes on and on.

Anyway, the basic flaw in the theory of creationism is that it assumes god isn’t particularly smart or particularly clever (for some inexplicable reason, religious fanatics always assign their own dull normal IQ’s to god). Let’s assume for a moment god is A LOT smarter than the guys who wrote the bible. If an intelligent being was to create life in the form of self-contained entities ranging in size from single cell to many tons, what would he consider an important design factor? How about...survivability.

If I was god, I’d consider life’s ability to adapt, evolve and survive an extremely high priority. I’d design-in evolution so my creations would continue to thrive for as long as possible. The theory of evolution being excluded from the bible doesn’t mean god didn’t think of it. It only means the authors of the bible didn’t think of it.

Personally, I think both theories -- life springing from an absolutely sterile mixture of water and volcanic ash or being created by some all-powerful entity waving his magic wand -- sound extremely lame. I think we need a third (less embarrassingly silly) theory as soon as possible.
