Hello, Carl.

I was at CRB Feb 68 to Feb 69 and worked Phantom Flight at the ROK Compound North of the 22nd Replacement Center. We always have a good showing of members who are from Cam Ranh Bay, although the largest group is usually from Tan Son Nhut. We have a great member database that includes over 150 members who served at Cam Ranh Bay over various years from the opening until the closing.

The most important thing about the reunions is that it's about our brotherhood and the support we receive from our wives, girlfriends and family who are automatically included in the VSPA Sisterhood. You will never have to explain yourself or what you did in Vietnam or Thailand. We know because we are all Air Policemen, Security Policemen or Augmentees who served on the perimeter with us. Basically, it's Welcome Home to the VSPA. We each receive a nametag that looks like a restricted area badge that has your name, bases and years at that base in Vietnam or Thailand. Many of our members served multiple tours. You may even find someone you served with from another base or from Tech School.

We have a great BX that functions as a single point for purchases of our memorabilia during the reunion and throughout the year. They buy at a discount and pass that discount along to our members.

Dress for the reunion is casual. You can wear Veteran's shirts, hats, vests with pins and patches, even old uniforms. Saturday night we will have a banquet where the dress is suit and tie, sport coat, wives wear nice dresses or outfits. If you don't own a suit, casual nice is okay. Blues are okay if you are retired. The remaining dress is always casual. We always have a great Hospitality Room where all of the refreshments are free. If you find that free booze is too tempting, we also have a great group for friends of Bill W. who always meet to help each other maintain sobriety.

Specific information regarding the local area and the weather will be provided in future mailings. Let me know if you have more questions.

Welcome home to the VSPA!

Steve Gattis
