Subject: USAF Birthday

If I am correct, the USAF was established this date in 1947. A day or two before my time, but the 8 years I spent wearing the uniform was one of the great times of my life. Both of my sons were born at Air bases. My wife bounced around with me to each base except the two in Vietnam. I still stay in touch with a couple of guys from my former life as a Security policeman. My hat is off to the troops of today. Tough times and too many deployments. To all you old guys, like me, it was a pleasure working with you, even if we never met. The history is there and can't be changed.

I was lucky enough to be an instructor at the Law Enforcement tech school when the first female Security Policeman were brought into the career field. I remember when the Navy sent the first Petty Officers through the school so they could form a career field for the Shore Patrol. We must have been doing something right because they chose us instead of the Army MP's.

Happy Birthday to the USAF and Welcome Home to all.
