The VVMF "In Memory Program" is real and was created to recognize Vietnam veterans who have died since coming home due to non-combat causes (Agent Orange, PTSD, etc.). While the names of these veterans do NOT qualify to be added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, this is a way to recognize our brothers and sisters who have passed on due to their service to our country.

To recognize these veterans the VVMF "In Memory Program" has placed an "In Memory" plaque on the memorial grounds near the Frederick Hart “Three Servicemen Statue.” Every year during the third week of April there is a ceremony at the memorial and the names of the veterans who have been approved for inclusion are read and certificates with their names are placed at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The National Park Service collects those certificates and stores them with all other mementos left at the wall.

This might be a great tribute to Mike Daoust and any other VSPA brothers that meet the criteria for the program.
