I came back from Vietnam in Nov 71, when the freedom bird landed at the airport in Washington State and there they were, protesters, calling us baby killers. The first thing I did when I got off the plane is kiss the ground. Couldn't wait to get home. I was so demoralized. When I got to my next base it all went away, took a year. Since, I gave the USAF 20 years. At times, I still think about it.
