Jackie,

You said everything and so much more that meant everything to Glenn. He was the best and always approachable, never aloof, always willing to listen, share experience and just ask how you were doing. He did all of those things for us because he was tough. He didn't have to use his stripes as a hammer. His character and personal leadership traits made him a lifesaving first-line supervisor. As young airmen who were about to become supervisors, he was the man to emulate. Back then, we all looked for great leaders but Curtis LeMay and Robin Olds were so far off in the distance that we couldn't relate to them unless they showed up. Glenn was always there. He was one of us, sharing the same hardships and hours on duty in the darkest nights of our lives.
