I’ve been called a hero, a damn fool, even stupid for crossing a live mine-field to give aid to the vitems of a down C-123 at DaNang. One of the injured that I gave the aide to, was the copilot (Lt. Roger Rucker, who was seriously injured.) Fifty years later, that same retired Col Rucker visited me at my home in Missouri and thank me in person for the aid I render him on that Monnson night in 1965. Hero? Not nessarly, but combat Vet, you damn Right!
