Subject: Trump Budget cuts for Vets?

Has anyone else heard this? Is it valid? I received this info from a Vet friend...

"Two days ago, I was informed that the Trump Administration's 2018 budget will cut all VA IU payments on the belief that those now eligible for Social Security can live on those funds and no longer deserve VA assistance. This impacts over 225,000 veterans, most Vietnam-era men and women, most of which will now be plunged from living in a low income bracket into poverty. I will not be a victim and have vowed to fight this with every fiber of my being. The first step is a call for those of you who believe that this cut is unfair to those who served this country so well, so long ago...to now contact your representatives in the Congress and Senate and ask them NOT to support the IU cut in the VA called for in the 2018 budget. So far, we are receiving support from the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Vietnam Veterans of America. I've never done well at arguing politics - but this is personal for me and a quarter of a million others who have served this country when called upon to do so. Thank you." Anyone have any knowledge of this?
