You'll never convince a jarhead or an army leg that SPs earned their combat pay. We might tend to say the same about the cooks and the titless WAFs. The last two KIAs I knew of just before I DEROSed were electronics techs whose hangar took a 122. Those guys probably hadn't fired a weapon since basic, but they were surely in harms way. I'm willing to give anyone who spent time in country his due. Not many of the jobs didn't contribute to the overall mission.
