Glad everyone in Tampa avoided the worst of Matthew. Which by the way is my sons name. Haven't made a reunion is the past few years but plan on trying again soon. So here goes my story.

Enlisted in March 1970. Basic and then Tech school at Lackland AFB. Assigned to Vandenberg AFB working security with SAC detachment on the Atlas and Minute Man missiles. The flight chief handed out orders one night at guardmount. Vietnam here I come. I did not tell my wife I had orders for almost ten days. Back to Lackland for AZR and landed at Phu Cat AB, March 1971. Worked security for a few weeks, with our very own Pete Piazza. One morning I got word to see the 1st SGT. I was told that my records caught up with me and my AFSC was now 81250 Law Enforcement. I was transferred to Base Police with the 12th SPS. Couple of months later I was assigned to Investigations. November 1971 I was transferred to DaNang AB with the 366th SPS. Left April 1972 back to the world to Kirtland AFB with the 4392nd SPS. Made SSGT July 1973 wound up NCOIC Corrections and reenlisted Feb 1974. Assigned to Edwards AFB as NCOIC Corrections with the 6510th SPS. Got orders back to Lackland March 1975. I spent one year eleven days on Edwards AFB and was gone again. Assigned as Instructor to Law Enforcement Technical School. After three years at Lackland I decided to check the civilian Law Enforcement job market.

Was discharged 28 Feb 1978 with just under 8 years as a Security Policeman. Spent the next 25 years working for San Bernardino County in California. Due to injuries I was medically retired as Sheriff's Lieutenant.
