My AZR training in DEC 66, at Lackland, was a joke. I went with Jim Brewster, from Kirtland AFB. We had no training on how to shoot any weapon including the M-16, M-79 and M-60. If I remember correctly we had some book work and a class in how to do the craw in a open field that was full of fist size rocks in it. They were still setting up the class. Some place I have certification for AZR. We did a night training class on line of abreast with a hidden enemy. At Phan Rang we had .38, M-16, shotguns and M-60, until TET 68, when the .50 and the mini gun showed up.
