Subject: Death of a BROTHER, Ron Wheelock, 822CSPS

I received a call from Pete Villerreal last night to inform me that Ron Wheelock had died from lung cancer. Ron was one of my buddies from SAFESIDE and after I had gotten my Life Membership, I tried to talk him into getting his. I kept watching the numbers rise and at the last possible chance, I bought his Life Membership for him as a gift. He became life member #99. He kidded me about it and said it sounded like Engine, Engine 99. From then on, he called himself "Ranger Toot Toot". He stayed with me here in Hamilton, Ohio to go to the Reunion at Dayton back in 2003. I talked to him about a month ago and he never mentioned being ill. Rest in Peace BROTHER RANGER TOOT TOOT, and FRIEND.
