Subject: A Pleasent Surprise!

A pleasant Surprise!
On the 21 of November this year it will be fifty-one years ago, on a dark, monsoon night,
that I aided Lt. Roger Rucker (CoPilot) from the wreckage of his down C-123
Flareship that had just crashed off the runway, outside of the wire at DaNang, AFB.
He was seriously injured (Broken lower jaw and he had bitten through his tongue and was bleeding perfusingly!)
Last Monday, my doorbell rang and when I open the door, there stood Col. Roger Rucker (USAF 26 years).
It had been almost 51 years since the crash. We hugged each other, and I told him that the last time I saw him,
he was in shock and bleeding like a stuck pig. We had a lot to talk about and a great reunion! He is a real gentleman!
What a pleasant surprise, I never expected to see him again. He was very appreciative for my help on that perilous night!
