Subject: The Reason For The Season

Seasons Greetings to all my Brothers and Sisters! I wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Solstice or whatever other other holiday greeting pleases you.

Axial Tilt! The REAL Reason for the Season!

This morning was the Winter Solstice at 2:44AM Pacific. Where I live in Anacortes, WA at 48.5126° N this shortest day of the year for me celebrates a great beginning of longer days and the magic of the coming Spring. I am ever appreciative that I am alive and able to live a productive and rich life. The traditions of the many holidays in this season provide ample reminders that we are indeed fortunate. Although by any measure I must be at least 80% done, I choose to live inspired by Horace Mann who admonished us to

"Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity."

We must use our remaining time to accomplish whatever it is that we think fits that statement.

At this season of
THE WINTER SOLSTICE
may reason prevail.
There are no gods,
no devils, no angels,
no heaven or hell.
There is only our natural world.
Religion is but
myth and superstition
that hardens hearts
and enslaves minds.

May reason prevail indeed!
