Steve, As I read your message I thought about how similar our service and careers have been. While I didn't volunteer to go to Vietnam, I did take that adventure and then came home to spend long career in law enforcement. It is somewhat surprising that we didn't encounter each other over those years since we worked in the same area, although for different agencies. Which reminds me, Go Trojans! I am sure I knew many of those same people you mentioned losing over the years.

I know we talked (emails) about your initial diagnosis and the pending treatment. Your advice to everyone is very compelling for any of us who may have tried to ignore the potential consequences of our service or have procrastinated in getting the routine checkups. I have considered myself lucky that I have not had any problems since coming home. It always makes me wonder because so much of the Agent Orange and other dioxins were stored adjacent to the SP compound and hootches. I do the doctor visits and keep my fingers crossed.

Please accept Debbie and my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. You and Lise will be in our thoughts and prayers. Mike & Debbie
