Subject: FINAL GUARDMOUNT FOR CLIFF GREGORY, VSPA LIFE MEMBER #271, NHA TRANG AND HON TRE ISLAND 67-68

I am very sad to report that our dear friend and brother, Cliff Gregory, VSPA Life Member #271, stood his final Guardmount yesterday evening while at home in Arkansas with his wife, Mary. Cliff served at Nha Trang Air Base in 1967-68 as a member of the 14th Security Police Squadron. He also served on Hon Tre Island, TDY from Nha Trang to Detachment 1, 619th Tactical Communications Squadron during 67-68. Cliff was retired from the US Postal Service and attended many of our VSPA reunions with his wife, Mary, and his dear brothers from the Nha Trang Gang. He was a proud Veteran who never hesitated to assist others and to join his Nha Trang family for gatherings, including washing The Wall in Washington, D.C.

For those of you who knew Cliff, you will know the great loss to the VSPA Brotherhood and Sisterhood. Always ready with a smile, a handshake and a good story, Cliff was the brother you always wanted to have around, especially when times were tough. For those of you who did not know Cliff, this man was made of all things country, with funny comments that “stuck with ya like hair in a biscuitâ€. He had an iron will to work his land, to run with his grandchildren, and to recover from knee replacement surgery to run again. His family and friends will gather this coming Sunday and Monday to celebrate his life.

Technology has given us the gift of memories, photos and videos of Cliff that have been posted to Facebook. Please see the following links to the VSPA Group on Facebook and to others areas on Facebook where Clifton Gregory has been tagged in photos and video. As we grieve, know that the photos and video have been used to celebrate Cliff’s incredible life with family and friends, along with his brothers and sisters in the VSPA.

Visitation: 1700 to 1900 Sunday, April 9.
Funeral: 1000 Monday, April 10, Interment to follow at a local cemetery.
