Subject: HELP FOR BILL PADDOCK'S FAMILY

I am writing to you on behalf of Bill Paddock’s family with the hope that his close friends and VSPA brothers might be able to assist his family with cremation expenses. VSPA Life Member Danny Vinson advised me that Bill's family is destitute. I just spoke with Bill's only child, his daughter, Stacy Stafford, who has attended our reunions in order to assist Bill at Destin, Florida and again in Las Vegas.

Bill was receiving a small VA disability pension and Social Security. He was unable to work. Both checks have stopped as of his death and he did not have insurance. Stacy has Multiple Sclerosis and pancreatic cancer. Her husband, Robbie, has had two heart attacks. Both are retired and unable to work due to their medical issues. Bill moved in with them after his mother, Stacy's grandmother, passed away while living with Stacy. Stacy and her husband both take very expensive life-saving medications and the house payment was just drafted from Bill's checking account. There are no other funds available.

Bill will be cremated at a cost of $2000 which has been reduced from the normal cost. Bill will be buried at the Ft Jackson National Cemetery at no cost, next week after all of the necessary paperwork and cremation have been handled. The funeral home will advise me when all arrangements have been made. That information will be posted after Bill has been cremated and his service has been scheduled with the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in South Carolina.

Donations to cover Bill's funeral expenses will be processed through the VSPA as tax deductible donations and then paid directly to the funeral home for the cremation expenses. Paying for Bill's cremation and funeral expenses will relieve some very intense financial pressure on his family.

Please make your donations payable to the

Vietnam Security Police Association

and mail them to our Treasurer, Richard Garcia.

You may also use PayPal through our web site at the following link:

Please click on the donate button. Then send an email to Richard Garcia at cal400@optonline.net advising him of the donation for Bill’s cremation expenses.

Thank you very much for remembering Bill and taking care of his family. We take care of our own.

In brotherhood, I send my best to you.
Steve
