this barely scratches the surface of the story

I dread the coming night
restless sleepless

I now know
every staging technique
and how to sell a home.

I've learned six new chicken recipes,
and how to make bread pudding
with berries and Brioche
and how to buy a house for $300.

C-span (1 and 2) have taught me more than my government
class and I discovered a C-Span 3.

There's nary a b&w movie I haven't seen this past
month or so including silent films.

I've read every catalogue
cover to cover
and read Blink.

I've paced and stretched and sat
with legs elevated and fallen asleep
for those short hour naps
(upside down, sideways
legs extended and curled in fetal position)
in the rocking chair,
the loveseat in the living room,
the loveseat in the den,
the couch,
the floor in various rooms
of this oversized house we no longer need.
