Reminds me of my first real encounter with the horse. Unpleasant recollection, but not disliking. I see both sides, and knowing the horse now better, understand. No other animal shares our collective past as the horse. Hoping better understanding to your son, believe the horse is the bond. I know that sounds silly, but so few take the time to know.
