I've Run Out (of titles, Chris)

l'un:
I am left
with a feeling
from a dream
where images
do not come
and it is only some 20 hours
later that this emotion
rides even over my evening
just as the coffee slowly
drips down my throat

the caffeine/nicotine fix
that carries sleep;
a better intoxicant
than Ambien or sex

{not that I would know}

But I remember ....nal's
(fill in the dots)
that rode many a night
that rolled their way
into my addictive
landscape

dos:
The one, he favours
my stance
and propensity
to things that destruct
or can be

Twisted and torn
like the waves
that bend to greet
mourning
in late autumn

The other, converse
as a thorn to a bloom
a shot of vitality
to the dram, dark parameters
that drape the perimeter
just below the surface
of the heart

Bittersweet
to the palate,
an equable equity
to the rhythms of the sunset;
a tide that breaks
over the Pacific

and a space
that cannot
be seen
