Subject: Life as it is.

"My Life Has Been The Poem"

"My life has been the poem I would have writ,
But I could not both live and utter it."

Henry David Thoreau.

There is no greater sky
than what darkens the great plains.
What force billows ten thousand feet tall
nimbo, stratus, and cumo
black, grey, and white
against the blue future?

Shift gears, set air and grab ass.

Each car creates its own percussion wave
a death-clap of thunder
D-rail.
In the crew car I know the sound
of lead crystal
wonder how far away first class is.

Storm after storm

Economy goes south.
Children want their way.
Alone wants to be alone.
Become a plumber again.

Storm after storm

...but in between, there's the dogwood with
a white cross
and the parlors
and gyms
and editing
performing
friends
triumphs in the trials...

and all of this
is nonsense
because I can't even write about it
when
I'm all about living it.

Sorry for wasting your time
I've got a cloud to watch.

MD
