Subject: Katherine's relationship to Geoffrey Chaucer

During my first trip to England, I visited Westminster Abbey. When the tour guide brought our group to Poet's Corner, I asked about Chaucer's sister-in-law, Katherine. The tour guide, rather snappishly, replied, "We don't speak of her!"

Later, while visiting Lincoln Cathedral (my favorite English cathedral, btw), not only did the tour guide point out Katherine's tomb, but also had the novel, lineage chart, and other paraphenalia available in the gift shop, and gave me directions to Kettlethorpe!!

This is by far my favorite story, and I have read it many times, shared copies of the book with friends, and told the story often. I love it!!
