Always makes me laugh when i see this subject talked about, people going on like Britian decided to attack the world, every european power were doing the same, we just did it best, im 20, and none of my friends have a clue about 1776, i dont know the subject in detail myself.
Yes it is treason, because they were British, for the US its a massive chapter in your history, as for the common British subject, its a drop in the ocean of our history, you seem to forget that the some of the colonies you complain about have developed into the strongest nations on Earth.
The USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India is set to be a super power. Give us our due, aswel as spreading warfare and disease we spread culture, government, law...the list is endless, someone had to be at the top and it was out turn, now its not, and superpowers will continue to change, Britain is only singled out because it was the most recent and because the empire was so vast.
