actually i saw in the textbook i used in college history that in 1778 parliament gave up on taxing america and i also somewhere at some point britain gave in to all demands but independence, but that wasn't good enough. the book said regarding 1778 "colonial resolve had hardened.", so rmv is right about colonial representation. i read that at first it was about fighting for rights. jack on this board said "independence was a last resort", so i feel it became revolution in 1776, after the declaration of independence
