I have to say that I've not visited Batavia so I can't say definitively. But I pulled up quite a few Dutch pictures which seem to have the same kind of mountains in the background:

I can't help feeling with all the volcanic and plate activity in the area mountains are fairly likely to be there.

I'm not sure though- can anyone else clarify
