Is this the same Lieutenant George Gordon who was in the late Earl of Orkney's Regiment of Foot, and was made an honourary Burgess of Aberdeen 1737? The Lieutenant George Gordon of Colonel Wood's Regiment of Foot was married to Margaret Kerr (b 1680s), daughter of Alexander Kerr of Menie, Belhelvie, Aberdeenshire. Her mother was Margaret Gordon of Braickley Castle, Aberdeenshire
