for starters not having a political agenda or political bias, like Labour, liberals or conservatives. the advantage of having a queen or king is that they can form realy good relationships with nations because they are there for life but a presedent comes and goes. tony blair went, gordon will one day go and if cameron becomes PM on day he will go but its possible that the queen will still be around to represent our country. added point- the queen is the traditional head of the country, its ok to move on with the times im not saying it isnt but... there is no reason for not holding on to the bit of our great past. the monarchy as it works now works for the nation and if we converted back to when the monarch ruled surpremly it would work still. with a presedent u dont get that air of continuality, you cant be proude of a presedent because they come and go but u can be proud of a monarch. and because a pm only represents one political movement or purpose they do no speak for the whole nation. plus theres the Commonwealth something like 1billion citizens that believe in her as head of state, also the powers that the queen or any monarch hasnt used in centuries. and also the queen is accounterble to the people just as much as any politician if she does something wrong the people speak out about it. i bet that id diana was still alive and if there was anychance of her being Queen people would think it was ok 2 surport the monarchy. and one final point- having a king or queen is unique and seperates us from the world, it is partly why so many tourists come to britain everyday.
