Subject: 95 xr sport jet won't run

Hey out there,
I have a 95XR sport jet that has been in storage for five years. It cranks up and runs then chokes out. Fuel is pouring out of carbs. Any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks, jr

Not sure if you've got this figured out yet or not, but your needle is stuck in your carb(s). They're not hard to remove and disassemble if you've got some mechanical experience. You may, however, need a rebuild kit if the needles are damaged from sitting dry that long. If you've never rebuilt a carburetor (or at least don't feel comfortable tackling it) you can save some money by taking just the carbs in to just about any small engine shop/boat dealer and they should help you out. You'll just have to set your fuel/air adjustment screws when you get them back.

Good luck,

Tim

Mine just did the same thing, it also sat for 3 yrs. my problem was a bent needle on the fuel enrichner, and the vent leading to air silencer was "gummed up"
