Subject: Searching for Johnstons in Alabama

I am trying to find info on my g-grandfather, William A. Johnson (1852-1914). He was married to Margaret A. Davis. She was born in Lawrence County,Ala. Their marriage is recorded in Cullman County, Ala. Some of the children were born in Cullman County,Al. I have not been able to find parents of William A. Have been told we are related to General Joe Johnston, and also have Black Dutch in bloodline. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
