WANTED: John McCandless b. 1798PA d.1845OH -- Family Tree Brick Walls

WANTED: John McCandless b. 1798PA d.1845OH

Looking for ancestors and descendants of my 4th great-grandfather John McCandless. He was supposedly born in PA around 1798, county and parents unknown. He was first sited in Ohio in a Cadiz newspaper in 1827. A year later he married Mary Ann Neel. The couple had the following issue: George Hannah (1830OH-1886KS), William Neel, John Alexander, Temperance Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Sarah Jane, and Asberry. John died in April of 1845, probably a sudden death, since Temperance was born exactly 9 months after his passing. He is buried in Antrim United Presbyterian Cemetery, Antrim, Guernsey county, Ohio.
I would appreciate any leads as to John's heritage or decendants. This has been a very hard brick wall to climb!
