2 brick walls: Thompson and Brown aka Smith -- Family Tree Brick Walls

Subject: 2 brick walls: Thompson and Brown aka Smith

My ggrandfather was known as N.B. Smith (Nathan or Nathaniel Brown Smith) after he killed a man in Knoxville, we think his true name was possibly Nathan S. Brown, but can't find out who he killed. We only know he was born in TN in 1852 and had changed his name and moved to Arkansas by 1879. (We know this cuz he married his first wife Emily Bachelor there, she passed within 2 years of the marriage, and that is all we know about her) We also know he had at least one brother, and had possibly been living on a plantation in TN. The murder happened because of a fight due to gambling. He said to ask the Knoxville sherriff if you wanted to know about him. Now, he married a woman by the name of Francis Pearlee Thompson, her father was John Perry Thompson, SR., born abt 1834 in Alabama, but was in arkansas by 1880 as well, married with at least 11 children, we can't seem to find his parents either.
