Subject: Abdon Wallace and Eulogia Sanchez Wallace

Hello, I am searching for any information, marriage or death or military records on Abdon Wallace, my maternal grandfather. As far as I have been able to determine, none of his 15+ grandchildren know when or where he died.

I have learned that he was born in either Scotland or Ireland in 1879 and was a miner in Dawson, NM. He was married to Eulogia Sanchez in 1900 and fathered 11 children, some of whom did not live to maturity.

There is a general consensus of opinion between the cousins who communicate that our grandmother demanded he leave their home because he was not supporting the family and was therefore lost to our family. I have seen items that suggest he held a WWI draft registration card from 1917 to 1918. My mother was born in Dawson in 1916 and he fathered two more daughters after her but we have no other information and all of his children have died but two and those two are elderly and past communication.

Their children were named: William, William, (yes, two Williams, both of whom died in infancy) Annie, Edward Laurie, John, Emma, George, Mary, Lucy and Ida.

Are there records for anyone fitting his general description?

I would be most grateful if you could assist me on where I might look online since I live in Illinois. My cousins who live in New Mexico, Raton and Santa Fe would, I suppose be able to search records in state but I thought I would request your assistance when I stumbled upon this link.

Thanking you most sincerely, in advance

Dorothy Johnson
