Hello. I do not know if this will help you, but my late foster mother Anna Siegenthaler was born in Switzerland in 1881(?) and had a brother named Rudi. They all left the swiss colony at Bernstadt in Ky.about 1900(?) to move to California, my foster mother living in San Francisco for 30 years or more then moving to San Jose where her brother Rudi lived. Anna married a fellow swiss named Geiser, then after his death, a German man named Kinzer. Anna died in 1959. I have contacted the university in Ky or Tenn about a Bernstadt manuscript, but they have not contacted me for some reason. I found the data on the net under Swiss colony Bernstadt in Laurel County Ky. I have been trying to find out who Anna's parents were, where they came from in Switzerland(somewhere in the Berner Oberland I know, the Emme valley?), and what were the parent's occupations and trades...but no luck. At present I am writing a book about her and how she affected my life in so many positive ways with her love. Hope this helps you. Cheerio, Robert.
