Subject: George Stephenson

I have just begun documenting our famiy tree on www.genesconnected.co.uk

My mother has always maintained that her father's family were descended from George Stephenson of Rocket fame. Her father was William Stephenson and all his family originated in Sunderland. We are aware that George himself did not have children so any descendants have come through his brother William, but we are unable to follow the tree right back.

How much do you have documented of his tree?

Do you know of other sites that may provide us with some clues?
