Not every player brings the best part of his game to every game or to each half of each game.
Yesterday Leon had only three points in the first half yet finished strong with 18.
Wesley who was on fire with 15 first half points managed but two buckets in the second stanza while throwing up a few air balls.
Bacon's ten was followed by five.
Akeem who led the way against Marist did not have a field goal in this one.
So I wouldn't be too hard on Brandon. As a frosh coming of an injury and not having played the level of competition that others have seen in high school-Colonia vs Bloomfield Tech,St Benedict's,Seton Hall and NYC,I think he's developing quite well.
We'd all like to see more offense, and definitely better free throw shooting, but his defense has been solid and I seldom worry any longer about a press, since all SPC has to do is clear out and let Brandon advance the ball.
It's nice to be playing "meaningful" games this late in the season.Next weekend should and will be a war.

I agree that we while should expect the same effort from every guy in each game , we should not expect the same results . So many variables determine how each guy will perform even given the same effort . And I think we as fans can only applaud the guys efforts for the last 10-12 games . They are great fun to root for .

I wonder if your half to half comments about the players may well have had something to do with Dunne's maneuverability being limited by Hill not being available . When you watch the effort by Bacon and Jenkins on both ends of the court last night , it is not surprising that each wore down a little in last ten minutes . Watching Wesley moving constantly on offense and defense was a fun watch . And it is just amazing to see all that Ryan contributes on both ends . But 35-36 at that effort level is very tough . There are very few KeeKees anywhere , anytime . But I think we saw in the end game with Wesley's airballs and Ryan letting a few rebounds get taken from him that a few more minutes of rest may have been crucial . Should take care of itself next year , but really hope that Jack is back for big last two games . Nick kept on keeping us in the game at the end , and it may well have had to do as much with his fresh legs as his ability to take charge at many games' end . Got my hopes really up when with about two min (?) to go Wesley made the defensive play , pushed it upcourt and made the pass to the wing for a three by Nick . It didn't go down but it was just the play we wanted so well executed . It reminded me so much of the Darrell to Orta play at the end of the Niagara game last year . All in all , a solid effort against an experienced and improving team on their court . Just another round of applause for our senior leader , Ish . He has done so many good things for us this year . I hope that as many as possible are there for his finale at Yanitelli .

It was also a lot of fun listening to their color guy saying that some of Ryan's moves around the basket reminded him of Kevin McHale , one of the very best ever around the basket . And his comment on one of Wesley's threes that he had not seen that type of execution before this year .
