Some interesting and needed questions to raise. Let me take a shot at providing some guesses and observations.

#1) While it has been a good recruiting class ( all DI players as has been pointed out) there appears to be only one potential superstar - Jenkins. Anyone who has seen the kid play knows that he is the real deal. As for the others, decent players but none, as of the present, that will be another outstanding or great player. That said, I'm not discouraged (disappointed yes)BUT we do need to build on this years recruits. One legitimate big man in next years recruiting class IMO should makle us a top tier team in the MAAC. Gooding, Bacon, Hogga, Leon and Lampley will hold their own with most MAAC teams and players. They are all excellent players.

#2) A question was raised several posts ago about settling on a fixed starting team and a more definitive rotation. I agree! My candidates for starting are: Orta, Jenkins, Sowell, Gooding and Leon. Hogga, Lampley and Bacon need to be key role players but in some rational rotation. The time for experimentation is over. An eight man rotation is the way to go but John needs to give a lot of thought as to how to implement that rotation.

#3) Bacon/Traore - Bacon will be as force (leads the team in blocked shots and can score around the basket) but as others have pointed out he needs to bulk up. He cannot be the only big man on the floor when Sowell is out. Traore looked decent and tough in the few minutes he played at FDU. My suggestion would be to substitute Traore when sitting Sowell and Bacon for Gooding if matchups dictate that we need two big men on the floor at the same time.

#4) There is no question that, as currently constituted, we are a jump shooting team. The lack of inside presence, offensively, puts too much pressure on our shooters. They are being played tight and up close and no matter how many screens are set they are having trouble getting open looks. This is why I like what Gooding can bring to the table. As stated, when he drives, good things happen. Hopefully, the last game has given Dunne food for thought. AG needs more of a green light in our offense.

#5) The above are my opinions and are in no way meant to provide all the answers. Winning begets winning. Our players have more than enough talent to win more than a few conference games but they need to learn how to win. Think John and his Staff are capable of making some necessay adjustments but as Peacock implies, now is the time for some serious reevaluation.

As I alluded to in a previous post, I am beginning to be very skeptical of Dunne's coaching abilities. I have up to this point given him the benefit of the doubt but this year he has not shown me very much. I am very much concerned that he is not as good as advertised or as I had thought. The team should be much more consistant. The blown leads and the inability to close out mediocre teams (Lehigh,LIU,FDU)> I know it is possible things will fall into place later in the season but after 10 games the team play is poor. IMO.
