I was there from the 3 minute mark of the first half of SHU/GU and credit SHU I rember them playing at the zero atmosphere meadowlands, The Rock was rocking and it was a good game that SHU won. It was cold for the SHU game woce the 9k crowd turned in to about 250 it was very cold. I like Bacon for SPC and Jenking is an all MAAC guard, othere then that the roster needs some work. Dunne did rally the troops at half time but Rider also let up. I did not understand why with SPC on a 7-0 to start the second half Dunne suddenly makes a substitution 3 minutes in to the half. Then for the rest of the half he would run players in and out without much rhyme or reason. I like the double headers but not if only 250 are going to stay, maybe if the MAAC could play the first game some more fans would come and watch the second half of the MAAC game and then stay for SHU, just a thought

1st half was an embarassment. Rider got wide open looks both inside and out. I don't know if SPC watched exciting SHU game and then had all the air taken out with the empty building, but they were just dead at both ends. Agree with Beagle about those subs and SPC fan about ill advise alley oop especially since Jenkins had just made 2 three balls in a row. On the plus side team did not quit. Bacon, Leon and Jenkins had good halves, but I wonder if Rider players were all that interested.Costner was on a yo yo and never got any flow. But tht was really the first bad half in a while and I said before progress is never a straight line. But team must move forward again vs Iona or advances earlier this month become questioned as mirages.

Great posts; the Rock was like a crypt for the SPC game. Could not have been 300 for the game start and 100 people in the stands for the second half. Borderline eerie.

We came out flat on the defensive end. Our lack of raw talent was exposed without the super defensive focus we showed against Niagara, Manhattan and Loyola.

I bet the Broncs bench ourscored ours 25-5 or so. So, in addition to the fact they were hitting their wide open shots, it became apparent Riders' talent level spots 1-8 was far superior. Not a huge surprise.

As others have said, we were bound to throw in a clinker. Manic defensive intensity is hard to maintain every game.

Whether or not we peaked by playing the 4-5 good games (all close losses) every team cobbles together during long season and will regress.....or whether we have improved and yesterday was an aberration...is yet to be determined.

On the plus side, Wesley took a few to the hoop, got some confidence then started hitting his jumpers in the second half. Also, Hall looked a bit better...lost two assists on missed chippies by Hill and Bacon.

Tangible improvement or "dead cat bounce"....we'll see. I think (hope!) it is the former.
