Heck of a win on the road coming back from down 10 with 7 minutes left.Wesley Jenkins found his shot again in a big way with a career high 30 points on 7-8 from three point range.Outstanding effort i thought also by Ryan Bacon on the boards against big Iona team.
Only negative was our complete lack of running any offense in the second half when Iona put the clamps on Jenkins. Even the usual non confrontational Rob Kennedy mentioned our total lack of running anything offensively settling for some ill advised shots when we saw our lead evaporate in the first 10 minutes of the second half and finally fell down by ten. As he said, Iona let us hang around and gave us a puncher's chance instead of putting us away when they had the chance. I thought Willard made a bad move pulling Clarke who was killing us inside for Springer who Bacon and the other Peacock big guys were able to handle. Leon made a big shot on a runner in the last 2 minutes after not really playing all that well.Nick seemed to be really bothered by aggresive Iona defense on the perimeter.
Key sequence when Wesley hit 2 straight threes, one from very long range bringing us from 8 down to 2 down in the last 3 minutes. We really picked it up defensively from there despite a terrible call on a blatant charge by Machado where Gooding was whistled for the foul. They also missed a goaltending in the first half on a shot by Hill underneath shown on replay on tv.
All in all congratulations to the team on their first road win of the year in conference. Now it's on to monday and the Saints curent RPI 21. Let's hope we get a big and loud turnout for that one.

Once again we fought back when our guys could have just as easily packed it in after falling behind 10 late in the 2nd half. Say what you want about Dunne, but this team keeps playing hard for him. Hopefully Wesley is starting to find his game again.

A nice win over an Iona team that could easily have 3-4 more MAAC wins. Iona came out flat and blew a 2nd half lead as they have many times this year.(The growing pains that go with having a young team just like ours)

Hope to see another good effort from our guys Monday night. If I remember correctly, we led Siena at the half last year so lets hope we can at least be competitive in this one against a far superior team.
