Hey, at least I'm a cabinet member who paid my taxes.

Fellow Peacock Fans,

Let's not knock the vast majority who saw little hope this roster could generate this kind of turnaround. Who could have ever dreamed, as recently at early January, Bacon would be the force he has become? Leon developing into a solid contributor, buying into tenacious defense? 5x that statement.

Both experienced Peacock rooters and objective bookmakers (club won games as 11, 8, 10 point underdogs and has been an underdog in EVERY league game this season), including me, are stunned at the turnaround. A conversation I had with fellow fans @ Wagner contained very little optomism...and Monmouth before Christmas was worse.

So, rather than discuss who saw this coming, let's enjoy this very unexpected surprise and hope like heck we can add two/three solid contributors (either this years frosh playing much better or newcomers) to next years 8 man rotation.

Would be a great achievement to avoid the PIG. Hope our guys come out sky high tomorrow.

You however Loyal, are able to admit, that like many others, not all, underestimated the young Peacocks. Those most critical negative anti-SPC posters have not. They simply have crawled back under their rocks.

Then what are you doing reading and posting on this board?

Agree. Winning makes fellow fans of everyone. As one of the posters who was not pro-JD (and perhaps with good reason) I give you credit for recognizing the turnaround and continuing to post your valued contributions.

But if truth be told, some of us (as you have pointed out and recognized) knew that Nick was a player as was Ryan Bacon. It was just a matter of time. Certainly, they've improved but the talent was always there. They were first year players last year. It's not as if someone else jumped into their bodies this year or that JD suddenly learned to coach. I've always posted that the man could coach and not out of blind faith.

I have tried not to bring up the past but sometimes it's difficult to forget some of the venom and pure BS that was spewed by a very few posters. Disagreement is fine and I have no illusion that everything is perfect with SPC basketball. But as all have recognized, we seem to heading in the right direction.

Not a great believer in I told you so but I found both Cindy's and Sludge's posts, as well as the one above, interesting. Think they were not referring to those who were negative, like yourself, with good reason and questioning where the Program was headed. Think they were referring to those very, very few who were not "man-up" to continue posting and acknowledge the success, although still limited, that we are now having. The fact that they have disappeared says a lot to me. Yourself, figgy, Gray Poll etc. are great fans and posters and continue to express their opinions in good times and bad. Others have indeed disappeared or as Cindy state are in "hiding". As you say, let's move on.

Gray, not sure that SPC basketball is "out of the woods" yet but always glad to read your posts.

I was one of those who had gotten very pessimistic about the Peacocks after the Monmouth game...I was never so happy to be wrong.

P.S. Crow is much stringier and gamier than chicken.

Of course, you know the tried & true recipe for eating crow.
(I have more times than I care to admit)

Place cleaned crow in a large piece of heavy duty aluminum foil.
Add 2 cups of cut potatoes
2 large peeled quartered onions
1/2 cup chicken broth
salt & pepper to taste

Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.

Remove from the oven; let stand to 10 minutes

The remove the crow & eat the aluminum foil
