Guess the motivation factor could go either way.Maybe some of their guys will try too hard to "prove" their point (whatever that means) and be out of control. IMO, that's the overall key - take away their rhythm and confidence.

On our side, aside from Bacon my biggest hope besides from Ryan staying out of foul trouble is for Wesley to continue his hot shooting from last game. Before the Manhattan game he was the first player on the court (either team) taking warmups at least 20 minutes before everyone else. Like that motivation. Hesitatent to say that I'm not worried about Nick because anyone can have a bad game. But Nick knows how to get to the foul line even if his shooting is off.

All season, one characteristic of this team is that they are mentally tough. Now that they have some added confidence they could pull off the upset. Wish them well!

If a team isn't already motivated this time of the year there is something wrong to begin with. Every coach, at some point or another, tries to use the "us against the world" or "we don't get respect" slogans. At least from my point of view, these are as meaningless as "it's tough to beat a team 3 times in a season" and "teams find it tough to win 4 games in 4 days," which we frequently hear this time of year. Good teams beat bad teams The reason teams don't win 4 games in 4 days is because they're the 7-10 seeds in the conference, not because they're tired or out of energy.

This will be a tough game regardless, but if Rider gets hot from beyond the arc (which they have in several games including the 1st game against us) or Bacon gets in early foul we will be in for a long night.

Good post! Always find amusing the comment "it's tough to beat a team three times in a season". Simple logic should follow and read; the probability of beating a team three times in a season is less than beating them two times. There is no less probabilty between game three vs. game two, vs. game one, assuming theoritically, all variables remain the same.
