Siena is clearly the best team in the MAAC this year, but not by a lot, Niagara could easily win it all next year. In 2 years the inexorable MAAC cycle will take over: Siena and Niagara trending down others trending up.

In the unlikely event that they are invited to join the A-10 or Big East and accept, they will suffer the same fate as Fordham and La Salle.

They hit a good recruiting class and this is what you see. In addition Siena will not put out the money necessary to fund the other sport programs to comepete in the BE. Conferances are about funding all the sports and the high travel budgets needed.

However they have a dedication to their baskeball program and will do what is necessary to keep it on top. It will depend on the other schools to match that dedication.

It was just great to see them play 'up' two years in a row. i hope folks in jc see or saw the coverage... it's like having a two hour commercial in prime time... so great for their kids and coaching staff. the school deserves kuddos for creating magic again. i can only hope that one day bill raf is yelling about the peacocks back court having onions on cbs!
