Does anyone on this board now have any lingering doubt how Bill Stein completed his complete screwing of the St Peters athletic program with the willing support of Academic administrators who border on the criminal .

No doubts here, brother.

That's why Prez alledged "refreshing new look" at our beloved Peacocks seems hollow.

How could EC have allowed Stein to offer JD the extension? EC couldn't have.....if he applied business sense....or paid even remote attention to what was going on. Prez was either totally disinterested or used incredibly poor judgement.

Had an interesting exchange last April about how to fairly evaluate the performance of a new coach.

Syracuse Assistant told me, during a conversation at Albany's OTB Teletheater (what, the opera?) if the impact of a new staff is not evident in three years, meaning the club is close to .500, it's time to cut ties.

IMO, that is a fair barometer.

Anyway, you are probably right.....status quo will be the justified by being locked into the JD contract.

Of course, if we wanted to be creative, we could easily jettison some administrative dead wood and put JD in another job for two years.....allowing us an "out"....but....I know I shouldn't be referring to the concept of creativity here.

I believe Pres. Cornacchia delegated responsibility to run the department to Stein and Eileen Poianni ,both of whom like Dunne. Stein wanted to leave Dunne with 3 more years as Dunne felt five years would be fair test to see if he could succeed.
With the current fiscal climate don't expect any changes after this year and probably not after next year as well.

Delegating that responsibility to a lame duck ad with several months left is the height of irresponsibilty .To defend that decision is being an apologist pure and simple.

I think SPC Fan agrees 100% our Prez was irresponsible (good choice of words) and dropped the ball.....SPF Fan was merely trying to convey the loopy rationale of Stein and Poiani.

It will not be the "fiscal climate" thst will be the problem

You are right Loyal. I didn't agree with the extension at all as you know. Just trying to tell people what i heard. Cornacchia was new and delegated to the people running the department.

New or old has no merit.. A president always delegates and should let department heads run their departments. However to allow an athletic director (Stein), that is retiring to extend a contract on his way out the door is just irresponsible and stupid.
