Had an interesting exchange last April about how to fairly evaluate the performance of a new coach.

Syracuse Assistant told me, during a conversation at Albany's OTB Teletheater (what, the opera?) if the impact of a new staff is not evident in three years, meaning the club is close to .500, it's time to cut ties.

IMO, that is a fair barometer.

Anyway, you are probably right.....status quo will be the justified by being locked into the JD contract.

Of course, if we wanted to be creative, we could easily jettison some administrative dead wood and put JD in another job for two years.....allowing us an "out"....but....I know I shouldn't be referring to the concept of creativity here.
