Subject: Stony Brook

Some Stoney Brook scores:

L Wagner 65-62

L Hofstra 61-56

W Lehigh 71-50

W Columbia 62-60

W NJIT 60-39

Last game was 12/15 against #2 UConn (away) L 91-57.

Looks like a decent team with wins over two teams that beat us. Also looks like they play a pretty decent schedule. Let's see what the line is but I would make us a slight underdog or pickem considering we are at home. That is if anyone considers Yanatelli a home court advantage.

Correct the above to one team. They lost to Wagner also

You're correct about the spread-given that we are at home, their 3-4 point higher power rating, should translate to a point or so dog for us.I do consider Yanitelli a slight home court advantage. For one thing you are not playing against a foe on their home court.Secondly, despite the fact that there is little fan support, the familiarity with the court, lighting, and physical layout, together with not having to take a bus trip is advantageous.
And,with the exception of Lehigh,we have played better at home vs,Canisius,LIU,Seton Hall and FDU.

As they say, "Talent rusts when it's on the bus."

Sometimes a homecourt advantage manifests itself in nothing more than the opposition being disadvantaged by traveling.

Stony Brook should be the favorite but two week layoff for them could really play to our advantage. Many teams struggle first time out after exams.
