Game was effectively over by half with Rider leading by 22. This the result of having hit on 10-16 threes.
The SPC defense which had been so good recently, regressed,I hope temporarily, and did not respond quickly to the inside-kick-it-back-out for the open three game Rider played. We've seen this before.Would that we have taken our chances one on one down low, rather than doubling down, only to be destroyed as they rained threes down on us.
On the up side-the Peacocks did come alive by virtue of improved defense in the second half.AND the play of Jenkins, who after going 1-6 and 0-2 on threes in the first half, knocked down 7-9 and 4-5 on threes for 18 second half points. If this was his turning point, better days are ahead for the Peacocks.
Also of note was the fact that Hall launched 6 shots...hitting three--7 points.Another positive that many have called for.
I would also like see Costner take a few more---today he attempted none.
Is Reid still in the doghouse?--Fewer minutes than Kabonga.
One last word.I would not care if we ever played another game at the Pru.After the SH-GU game the place was like a morgue.SPC and Rider were afforded few tickets and the overzealous PA announcer in an empty arena was ridiculous. It was also freezing as I guess they rely on body heat...without bodies, there was no heat.
