What I am about to post is part serious, part fun. Reading some of the posts below (Brandon Hall) as well as your post on the MAAC Board, I do have to reply.

Saving Brandon (I agree with Cindy's assessment) for another day, I do find it interesting that you keep posting how special Ryan and Wesley are going to be "if only they get help". Well again I took it (not to seriously) as overlooking Nick. Now I understand that Darrell Lampley was one of your guys and we had many back and forths (in a friendly way) debating the two. True, you have been complimentary of Nick this year and I understand that you are a true Peacock fan but...

But our most consistent player this year has not been Darrell or Ryan, it's been Nick. Not only scoring, taking late control of a game but having the additional burden of scoring and running the point for a great portion of every game. No poor reflection on Brandon but If Belin and Conley pan out you may see Nick back at the #1 and Brandon his backup. This is how it has been for at least a good part of every game this year. Now I like and appreciate Brandon's skills as a player and I'd rather see Nick at the #2 for scoring purposes but if we get additional scoring from the newcomers you might just see Nick become the point, drop off a bit in scoring but run the team. Just a possibility. Oh! one more thing on Nick. He is the team leader, and recognized as such by the players. Note, I said team leader not best player.

All that said, I agree with Cindy that each player has his plusses and minuses. As one who appreciated Nick's game from the get go, his minus is the errant pass. SPC Fan has correctly pointed that out on occassion. Fan is correct but my response is, that is Leon's game. I've seen him throw ,by far, the most spectacular 3/4 court passes as well as that great lookaway against Cansius. So I'll live with his negatives because his positive contributions far outweigh the negative. No one, especially Mid-Majors has the perfect player.

On to Wesley. Love the kid but he has his negatives also. Streak shooter par excellence but not the greatest shooter I have ever seen. Actually, I love his smooth drives and rebounding ability for a 6'2" player as much as his stroke. But IMO Wes has negatives also. Contrary to you opinion of the last game (I did not see it), Wes stands around alot on offense. Yes he does move during a designed play but he is rarely in constant motion. If you want to see the prototypical college player in constant motion, watch Kyle McAlarney of Notre Dame. The kid must be in in some physical shape. He also averages more minutes than Wesley. Wesley while having a great nose for the ball (steals) is also a poor passer, Throws a pass that floats which is often picked off. Like any potentially great player WJ has those two areas to work on. Like you, I see him as our scoring star but he does have areas that need improvement. Would love to see him develop that KeeKee mentality of scoring (going to the foul line) when his shot is off. Disappears a lot more than we all would hope.

Ryan Bacon - as wrong as you were on DL you were more than right on this player. All of us love his game. Yet as several have pointed out he has little or no face to the basket game. My personal opinion is that he will develop that. One only has to look at his foul shooting technique and ability
to see the potential. I've stated on several occassions that Ryan is a free lance type of player who will benefit greatly when he gets some help underneath.

Jajk, we all have our favorites but I appreciate our "big three" and do not consider it Wesley and Ryan and some other guys. Perhaps I over read into your post on the MAAC Board but let's call it as it is. We have three potential All-MAAC players. Now I've gone ahead and stuck my neck out regarding Conley. If I'm wrong so be it but I'll stick with my early opinion on Dunne and Leon and hope for the sake of the team that I don't strike out with Darius.

As I've posted several times, I like your posts and especially the tenor of the Board recently. Winning has a way of putting everyone on the same page. What I stated above is close to nit picking. The kids and coach are performing well, praise rather than criticism is called for. Just want to see their games continue to develop.

The MAAC Hoops Board under a discussion of last nights game. Wasn't really just referring to that particular post and jajk's posts are always been pro SPC team and players.Indeed, I usually find his posts interesting, insightful and especially funny especially when tweaking Siena's posters.

However, he, like all of us, has his favorites. DL was really a big favorite. I'll let it go at that and let sleeping dogs lie. He was never a big Nick Leon fan and that is fine. Indeed he has been complimentary of Nick recently. But it always Wesley and Ryan. If you reread my posts after the last several games I tried to tweak/remind him of Nick's role this year. My point was simply that all three are a big part of our future and, if truth be told, Wesley of the three has had the most difficult year. Not necessarily statistically but probably in light of over hyped expectations. My view ! All three are tremendous with each,as I have posted, having further development to do.

Bottom line, it wasn't that particular post you asked about but just my perception based on that and other postings. Love Ryan and Wes but Nick is every much the contributor they are. I know you agree with that statement. Probably just friendly reminders/disagreements between two Peacock fans.
