Re: recruiting article on JJ blog -- oldtimer#1, Tuesday, February 24, 10:56:51am [1]
The rumor about Akeem has been around for quite a while. Believe Cindy was the first to mention it way back in January. To his credit Cindy did not make a big deal about it since rumors tend to take on a life of their own.
If true, can't blame the young man as he has a life to lead and begin. In my few encounters with Akeem the first words that come to mind are friendly and classy. His personality should do him well in whatever profession he chooses. Blessed with a wealth of athletic ability, Akeem was the protopical example that "God doesn't give everybody, everything". Never gave Akeem that jump shot! In any event I've always enjoyed his intensity on the court. A good example for all the other players.
I realize that this is a basketball discussion board but I thought that such a nice young man deserved some recognition. Nothing is written in stone but if Akeem is to leave, I wish him all the best.
