Subject: my 2 cents

you guys sound pretty intelligent discussing politics but you cant be that bright if your still supporting spc athletics unless your kid goes there.. i know alot of former athletes from spc who couldnt care less if the programs were cut or succeed. theres no loyalty at that school so why waste time supporting it?

Your post lacks logic. If you decry the lack of loyalty to SPC ,then how can you call for posters, most of whom are alumni, to end there support?
What the college needs is more support, since I agree, many of today's students and recent alumni, children of the entitlement culture, who are frequently on the receiving end, just don't have the mind set to "give back"when they graduate.

The college has to earn those warm feelings and the returns from alumni. They're not inherent in the system, they're not automatically part of the educator-student relationship.

Saint Peter's College fails at that on nearly every level. The student experience is bad. Very little is done to foster a sense of community. One of the best ways to do this is to run a successful athletic program. Winning athletic teams reflect positively on the school and encourage an overall sense of pride among the staff and students. Athletics is not he only place Saint Peter's College is deficient in this matter. It's nearly across the board.

The customer service at Saint Peter's seems to end as soon as the checks are signed. This has nothing to do with an entitlement culture or today's generation. Students at other schools, across the education spectrum, are getting a rewarding college-going experience that fosters loyalty and pride for years after they graduate. SPC does not.

At almost every college across the country, contributions by recent alums are down as a percentage of of total giving relative to prior decades.
You don't make a quarterback out of someone whose played wide receiver his whole life.
